Abstract: Eastern Asian Trochodendron aralioides Siebold & Zucc.,
Wheel Tree, showed the last winters 2004 to 2013 to be a hardy exotic species.
Most probably it is one of the few evergreen non-conifers suitable for Central
European USDA zone 6. - With 8 figures.
Zusammenfassung: Der aus Ostasien stammende Radbaum, Trochodendron aralioides,
hat sich in den letzten, zum Teil sehr kalten Wintern von 2004 bis 2013 als
winterhart erwiesen. Er gehört damit zu den wenigen immergrünen
Laubbäumen, die etwa bis Zone 6 etablierbar sind. - Mit 8 Abbildungen.

Update des winterharten Embothrium coccineum (Proteaceae)

Abstract: Since 1978 two specimens of the Chilean Embothrium coccineum
J. R. Forst. & G. Forst. are successfully grown outdoors in plain soil
in a Central European garden in Geldern, Western Germany. Regarding the last
cold winters, an update of these unique specimens is given. - With 9
figures.

A possible variety of Rhapidophyllum hystrix H. Wendl & Drude,
S. Quercellini
Abstract: A short remark on the genus Rhapidophyllum is given and compared
with R. hystrix specimens in the authors garden. The different characters
of a male palm in contrast to other specimens are pointed out. - With 6
